We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Underwriter/AVP to join our National Accounts Excess Casualty Team. You will be responsible for:


  • Conducting comprehensive underwriting analysis of P&C reinsurance treaties, assessing complex risks, and providing clear, actionable recommendations to support business objectives.


  • Interacting and collaborating with all functional areas of the company including actuarial, contract wording, finance, and claims department.


  • Managing the entire underwriting process, from opportunity identification, data input, and risk analysis to deal conclusion, ensuring operational efficiency and accurate reporting.


  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and brokers, ensuring their needs are met through proactive communication and exceptional service.


  • Delivering high-quality service to clients and brokers, consistently representing Everest with professionalism and integrity.


  • Contributing to business planning and projects, staying informed of market trends and innovations that impact reinsurance practice.


  • Representing Everest at internal and external meetings, actively participating in discussions with brokers, clients, and other key stakeholders.


  • Participating in business travel as required to support client relationships and foster business development.




Responsibilities include but not limited to:


  • Manage the Eastern Region Territory for Umbrella and Excess Casualty business


  • Analyze risk data of proposed insureds to identify hazards and exposures for new and renewal business


  • Implement underwriting rationale through exposure evaluation, risk assessment and pricing of individual risks


  • Adhering to underwriting rules and guidelines


  • Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers to facilitate a flow of desirable new business and to maintain renewal business via quality service


  • Collaborating with other product lines to provide full product support to the client


Qualifications, Education & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree or above and/or insurance certifications


  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in underwriting excess casualty business, or other casualty lines


Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to generate profitable new business


  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills


  • Excellent analytical, communication, and computer skills


  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced, team-oriented, working environment


  • Customer-oriented approach
