Title: Sr. Android Developer (5 Openings)
Location: 4 days per week, on site in Plano, TX
Duration: This is a 3 month contract to hire role
We are looking for a strong and enthusiastic Android Mobile Developer to join our dynamic Application Engineering team to develop and enhance our applications on Android platforms. As a Senior mobile engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications including work on improving the architecture. You will work closely with other Engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and user-friendly mobile solutions
What you'll be doing:
o Design, develop and maintain mobile applications for Android platform.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
o Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
o Participate and Assist in the entire application lifecycle, including concept, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
o Debug and resolve technical issues and bugs to ensure optimal application performance.
o Perform unit testing and ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of applications.
o Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge with the team.
o Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
o Implement mobile development best practices to ensure high code quality and performance.
o Adhere to security and data protection guidelines for mobile applications
Requirements:
Qualifications/ What you bring (Must Haves) - Highlight Top 3-5 skills
o 6+ years knowledge in Native mobile app development.
o Mandatory Native Android development, knowing cross platform frameworks including but not limited to iOS, Flutter, React Native, multiplatform is a plus.
o In depth understanding of programming languages like Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose
o Strong experience building and maintaining Android libraries via Gradle/Maven
o Working Knowledge of Unit and Android Tests.
o Proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
o Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and Android UI design principles.
o Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, JSON, and integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
o Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
o Understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
o Solid understanding of mobile app design patterns like - MVC, MVP, Delegation, Singleton, Factory, MVVM pattern, Clean Architecture, Viper etc.
o Strong experience collaborating with designers and UX experts to create great user experiences.
o Building Android Modules, SDKs, Framework is plus.
o Working Knowledge of Unit and Automated testing using Espresso UI Automation
o Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Fastlane and using version control tools like Git, Gitlab.
o Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies/challenges.
o Strong understanding of code review guidelines and best practices to ensure high-quality code and continuous improvement within the development team.
Added bonus if you have (Preferred):
o Understanding of CI/CD principles
o Good understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers.
o Good knowledge of UX best practices, interactive design principles, guidelines, including current mobile accessibility standards.
o Preferred familiarity with Bluetooth, BT Profiles, Digital Key, Core Bluetooth, External accessory, OAuth 2.0 and iAP2
o Able to work on Agile and Test-driven development.
o Familiar with agile processes, continuous integration, and working with a remote team.
o Strong communicator who collaborates well across teams
