Responsibilities

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam (LAN), a distinguished civil engineering firm, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Civil Engineer to join our Water District team. As an Engineer IV PE, you will play a pivotal role in managing and executing projects related to water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and drainage systems. Your responsibilities will span from initial project concept development to construction phase engineering service support.   • Take a lead role in managing projects from inception to completion. This includes developing project design concepts, creating project plans, and overseeing project execution within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Independently coordinate the efforts of engineers, designers, drafters, and sub-consultants throughout the project's lifecycle to ensure a cohesive and efficient workflow.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings as needed.
  • Be actively engaged in various aspects of project management, from marketing and contractual development to design implementation.
  • Assist in managing the financial aspects of assigned engineering projects, optimizing the work effort within the project team to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion.
  • Efficiently handle multiple projects and clients simultaneously, demonstrating your organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design tools to prepare high-quality engineering and design documents.
  • Fulfill project team quality system tasks as defined in our Quality Assurance/Quality Control guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of work.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with contract specifications.



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of water distribution, wastewater collection systems, layouts and components, and drainage systems.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
