Description: One of our largest clients based out of Salt Lake City has an immediate need for a Database Administrator! This position will be fully on-site contract with the potential to converts to Full Time. **W2 only, no C2C**
Job Title: Database Administrator
Job Summary: Join our Technology Services Operations Team as a Database Administrator, where you will provide comprehensive support for our global database infrastructure. This role involves maintaining and optimizing various database systems, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform operational support activities for database administration within the Technology Services Operations Team.
Provide production support for a range of database systems including Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, UDB DB2 SQL Rep and Q Replication, Paraccel, PostgreSQL, Hadoop, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle.
Support hardware platforms such as Sun v240/440/4800/420r, Dell r610/710, and HP 385/585/480 Blades.
Administer and maintain local and global database infrastructure, including implementation, operational support, and periodic upgrades.
Evaluate and optimize server infrastructure operations, scheduling maintenance jobs using Autosys.
Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and incidents, providing remediation solutions.
Collaborate with application support and other IT teams to ensure timely responses to critical requests.
Monitor database infrastructure daily for health checks, application, and replication alerts.
Handle provisioning activities, user requests, and resolution alerts.
Participate in business continuity plan tests across all regions related to database infrastructure.
Adhere to company change management procedures and requirements.
Develop policies and procedures for regular operational activities.
Manage small project initiatives within the database team, including datacenter migrations and end-of-life database software and hardware.
Organize and conduct database training sessions for the team, both locally and globally.
Perform basic file system administration tasks, including expansion and device carving using native Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6 multipath utilities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in database administration and operational support.
Proficiency with various database systems and hardware platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
