The Department of Mathematics & Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a start date of August 2025. This position will support the Actuarial Science program.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field (e.g., Risk Management, Applied Statistics). ABD candidates are eligible to apply but must complete all doctoral degree requirements by the start date (August 2025).
College-level teaching experience as a teaching assistant or instructor.
Demonstrated scholarly work (viz., peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, or dissertation work) in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related area (e.g., Risk Analysis, Risk and Insurance).
Preferred Qualifications
Progress toward or attainment of professional actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA, ACAS, FSA, or FCAS).
Experience as an instructor of record for Actuarial Science courses.
Peer-reviewed publications in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related area (e.g., Risk Analysis, Risk and Insurance).
Experience seeking external research funding.
