Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to design and manage the technical components of a complex infrastructure transition. With deep expertise in cloud migrations, infrastructure design, and IT Service Management (ITSM) tools, this individual will ensure that the technical aspects of the transition are well-planned and executed, minimizing disruptions to ITA’s operations. The Technical Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to design and implement solutions in AWS, Cisco, and other environments.
Responsibilities
Technical Transition Design: Lead the design of the technical components of the transition, ensuring that all elements align with organizational and project goals. Develop detailed plans for transitioning ITA’s infrastructure, including cloud migration, network, and ITSM system upgrades. Ensure that all technical changes are designed for optimal performance, security, and scalability.
Cloud Migration & Infrastructure Design: Oversee and manage cloud migration efforts, particularly in AWS, ensuring smooth migration of applications and services. Lead the design and implementation of infrastructure upgrades, including network components, data centers, and cloud environments. Ensure that technical solutions meet industry standards and best practices for IT architecture and cloud integration.
Collaboration & Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and vendors, to ensure technical requirements are understood and implemented. Work closely with the incumbent contractor and internal teams to develop strategies for the future state of ITA’s technical infrastructure. Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and addressing technical concerns. Technical Leadership: Provide expert leadership on all technical aspects of the transition, guiding teams in the use of AWS, Cisco, and other relevant platforms. Act as a technical authority during planning and execution, resolving complex technical challenges that may arise during the transition. Lead efforts to evaluate and select ITSM tools and infrastructure components that meet current and future operational needs.
Risk Management: Identify and address potential technical risks associated with the transition, developing mitigation strategies to minimize impact. Ensure that the technical transition is planned and executed with minimal disruption to ITA’s ongoing operations, maintaining high availability and reliability of critical systems.
Quality Assurance & Optimization: Oversee technical quality assurance processes to ensure that all technical solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards. Continuously assess and optimize the transition process, making improvements where necessary to ensure the smooth deployment of infrastructure and services.
Documentation & Handover: Ensure that all technical documentation is up to date and comprehensive, covering system designs, migration plans, and operational procedures. Facilitate a thorough technical handover to operational teams, ensuring they are equipped to manage and maintain the new infrastructure.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
years of experience in technical leadership roles, particularly involving cloud migrations and infrastructure design.
Proven experience with AWS, Cisco, and similar environments, with strong expertise in cloud technologies and ITSM tools.
Deep knowledge of infrastructure design, network architecture, and cloud integration strategies.
Strong understanding of IT security, compliance, and best practices for large-scale infrastructure projects.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desired Skills:
Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or similar are highly desirable.
Experience in managing transitions in large-scale government or enterprise environments.
Familiarity with ITIL practices and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
