The Office of Internal Audit collaborates and partners with clients to provide an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the University's financial, operational and information technology internal control activities.
Job Summary
The Office of Internal Audit is seeking to fill a full-time auditor position,
Consults with client's management and operational and financial professionals to gather information regarding the client's academic and/or business purposes, operational activities, organizational structure, budgetary and financial position, internal control environment, applicable regulatory requirements, and/or policies and standards.
Conducts complex and detailed risk analysis for all significant aspects of the client academic and/or business operations which includes assessing a broad range of client service delivery methods, processes, university policies, and both IU, industry and peer-specific technical operational, financial and compliance specifications.
Discusses deficiencies with client management and recommends actions to improve controls, enhance operational and financial integrity, streamline processes, and reduce costs; Recommends changes in policies and procedures to enhance controls or correct deficiencies.
Manages, oversees and coordinates activity of staff auditors.
Collaborates with IT auditors in applying operational and financial audit principles and concepts, identify relevant operating and financial controls to include in the audit scope, design audit programs/procedures to assess their adequacy, and document the impact of strengths or weaknesses to current audit procedures/objectives.
Appraises the adequacy of departmental replies to final audit reports, and performs post-audit reviews to determine the extent to which audit action plans have been implemented and the risk mitigated.
Writes and develops queries to extract and manipulate data from complex information and reporting systems and to facilitate audit compliance and substantive testing procedures.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
