Description
The Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse is a member of the collaborative interdisciplinary team. The Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes the care process consistent with their license and within their scope of practice. The practice of nursing as a Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as performing tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding; reinforcing the patient and family teaching program through health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or licensed Physician. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan.
Licensed care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, document both objective and subjective physical findings and interventions. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, organizational policy and procedural guidelines.
The Licensed Practical Nurse actively supports performance improvement initiatives by participating in educational activities. The Licensed Practical Nurse assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as LPN in the State of New Jersey. Current BLSHCP.
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years clinical experience including pediatric experience required; strong organizational skills preferred.
