Position Overview:

  • Provides measurable input to the objectives and goals of Manufacturing Operations.

  • Ability to analyze existing processes and procedures to design and develop custom applications that will support, enhance, and help analyze those processes.
  • Design, development, testing, deployment, and support of applications and components for a wide variety of purposes across Manufacturing Operations, to include:
  • Responsibility for the architecture, implementation, and support of software supporting manufacturing of undersea cable and electro-optical amplifiers; including laser sources, optics, electronics, databases, cable data, cable manufacturing line automation.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting test data; technical problem solving; innovating creative solutions, and clear communication of findings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex problems to root cause; and implement effective solutions which make both engineering and business sense are essential with this position.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field is required, 1 + years of experience in IT development preferably.
  • Looking for skills in object oriented, modular design methods for writing code that is supportable, modifiable, and reusable.
  • Knowledge of various design patterns and how to properly implement them.
  • Knowledge in C based languages, particularly C#. and the .NET Framework.
  • knowledge of relational databases, specifically SQL. Familiarity with T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, data normalization, etc.
  • Architect, develop, execute software solutions to address business requirements.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as alone with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills at all levels from the shop floor to top management
  • Proficiency and demonstrated ability to make independent, informed decisions.
  • Must be confident in a highly dynamic and creative environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are required.

  • This is a full-time position and requires "onsite" availability.
