General Function: The individual who accepts this role will have primary responsibility for monitoring and
managing the College budget, managing
accounting and general ledger activity, and will
participate in managing the general business operations of the College. This position is a
direct report to the Vice President for Finance/Chief Financial Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Prepare and manage revenue and expense budgets for all College departments. Approve
purchase orders, approve cash disbursements, Approve payments on invoices. Manage the College general ledger and account structure. Create or approve journal entries. Post
subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
Produce or approve year end financial
statements. Provide other financial reports as required by government agencies, foundations, etc. Produce tax reports required by the IRS or state agencies. Manage year end financial
audit process. Manage banking services
vendors. Assist with outsourced payroll review and processing. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor degree with a major in accounting from an accredited institution and 2 years
experience public accounting or professional level accounting experience (preferred).
Experience in non-profit accounting is a plus. Certified Public Accountant (CPA or CPA
Candidate), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or
similar active licensure is highly desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Must pass a
background and credit check.
Working Conditions: Office environment with minimum 25 lbs lifting required. Flexible office hours to include
evenings and weekends.
