Senior Associate, Property Tax at Kroll, LLC in Houston, Texas

Job Description:

Our Property Tax Compliance and Advisory Senior Associate will assist in managing a team of personal property analysts who are responsible for the preparation and filing of personal property returns, reviewing assessment notices, processing tax bills, and interfacing with assessment officials to discuss property tax valuations.

This position will be hybrid.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Assisting in the oversight, management, and functions of property tax compliance - asset preparation, return preparation and review, tax bill procuring and processing, and management reporting
• Review of Assessor workpapers, models, and valuation inputs
• Development of industry valuation analytics
• Development and presentation of client valuation positions
• Meet with Assessors and present before Boards of Review in efforts to reach fair and equitable property tax valuations on behalf of clients
• Drive business development activities, both individually and as part of a team

Essential traits:

• Bachelor's degree in a business related field or equivalent years of property tax related experience
• 3 years or more of relevant personal property tax compliance and/or advisory experience
• Familiarity with personal property compliance software programs, including PTMS
• Sound knowledge of personal property tax forms and procedures of various state and local jurisdictions
• Excellent project management and presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skills
• Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel
• Previous experience leading a team of professionals
• Excellent relationship management skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
