Position Summary
Under moderate supervision, performs basic maintenance activities and furniture installations according to safety rules.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs basic maintenance activities, including repairing drywall and plastered walls, installing gypsum board and preparing surfaces.
Performs basic plumbing maintenance, including opening clogged drains, changing and/or installing toilet fixtures, repairing flush valves and faucets and installing or repairing thread-type and copper pipe.
Performs basic carpentry functions, including building and repairing wood furniture, constructing walls or buildings of specified materials, laying and repairing carpet, installing doors and ceiling tiles and repairing hardware.
Completes snow removal and landscapes, mows grass and cares for shrubs and trees as required.
Performs masonry work, including cutting and repointing masonry joints and caulking repairs.
Repairs vacuum sweepers as needed.
Performs basic electrical tasks, including re-lamping and "pulling" wire.
Transports, installs, adjusts, maintains and repairs landscape panels, furniture and other office furnishings in the Home Office and field offices as required. Orders replacement parts as necessary. Hangs/arranges artwork and bulletin boards according to predetermined specifications. Arranges furniture and equipment in classrooms and for special events as directed.
Must be willing to respond to emergencies or situations needing immediate attention that may occur outside of regular schedule.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional Experience
Some prior maintenance and/or furniture installation experience, including working knowledge of plumbing, masonry, mechanical and electrical functions required.
The incumbent must be willing to work an alternate shift and overtime when required.
Physical Requirements
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for this role.
