Schneider Electric is seeking a motivated individual to serve as Automation and IoT Engineer for support of product electro-mechanical test and assembly equipment. The position reports to the Chapter Leader for Home and Distribution Division in the Schneider Electric Energy Management Business Unit.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Provide input to product design during development phase to aid the implementation and performance of automated processes
Prepare and execute feasibility studies during early stages of design for critical processes using prototype assemblies
Develop acceptable test limits with Design team for electro-mechanical product tests to insure quality and safety
Prepare equipment specifications to meet the requirements of the defined assembly process
Ability to work closely with suppliers to develop detailed designs, BOMs, mechanical design drawings, electrical design, schematics and system design software
Lead the integration of mechanical design, electrical control systems and system design software with suppliers
Plan and provide detailed training on equipment design, maintenance and troubleshooting to various technical personnel
Support of existing equipment designs and production issues will be required both locally and at various sites globally
Maintains up to date knowledge of equipment technologies and utilizes this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutions
Utilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processes
MSA experience for qualification / validation of new processes and equipment
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electronics, Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering
10+ years experience in automation industry or high volume manufacturing environment

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Advanced level PLC programming
Advanced level configuring and designing HMI systems
Advanced level vision system experience (Cognex, Keyence)
Familiar with motion controllers and actuators (IAI, Yasakawa)
Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, CAN, Profibus)
Electronic circuit knowledge: digital, analog, power and high voltage
Experience with electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Basic understanding of UL61010-1 Standard, NFPA 79, National Electric Code

Creo / AutoCAD
TRAVEL
Travel required (domestic and international based on project assignment)
CRITICAL BEHAVIORS
Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations and others)
Proven ability to influence and convince through negotiation
Motivated self-starter, who able to work in parallel on multiple projects
Facilitator to drive problem solving and troubleshooting activities
Work with minimal supervision
