The Senior Director, Learning and Development, will lead the planning and execution of Evernorth's Sales and Account Management Learning and Development strategies. This role will drive strategic objectives forward and oversee the creation and delivery of high-quality adult learning experiences. The new leader will enable core consultative selling competencies, upsell, cross sell, and net new growth skills, and behaviors necessary for client facing employees and people leaders. The Senior Director will lead and influence senior business leaders across a complex matrix organization to align on growth strategies and plans that are connected to client needs across the buying journey.
Critical to success is the Senior Director's ability to ensure the organization stays abreast of learning science and proactively innovates with new approaches and modalities.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, plan, and execute the organization's overall Learning & Development (L&D) strategy that empowers the Evernorth Sales and Account Management organization to continuously adapt evolve and respond to changes in the market place. Include an emphasis on measurable behavior change for soft skills, product knowledge, competitor positioning, and sales system acumen
Introduce new and maintain existing L&D experiences on an ongoing basis to support changing strategic objectives.
Experience running A/B testing of courses against sales process impact
Build, test and launch an AI-assisted learning platform
Reimagine the sales training portfolio to meet the needs of the modern learner, ensuring that all learning products are relevant, accessible, scalable, individualized, and designed in accordance with adult learning models
Lead instructional design and learning team responsible for training key clients and internal teams on customer facing systems and tools
Cultivate strategic partnerships with Business leaders and matrixed partners to ensure that sales training content and modalities are aligned and ready to meet emerging business needs.
Build relationships with third-party resources, vendors, partners, and key clients to roll out innovative and experiential sales training models. Maintain ongoing familiarity with best practices, innovations, and networks with key external learning leaders to stay on the cutting edge of Sales Training and Development.
Partner with the Enterprise Learning & Development team to ensure Evernorth Sales L&D leverages internal resources and tools when designing, developing, and implementing training for itsstakeholders.
Optimize the enablement function and leverage data & analytics to drive continual operational efficiency within the organization to reduce cycle time, improve quality measures, and reduce costs.
Ensure all new sales facing employees and leaders are onboarded effectively and quickly to accelerate their ramp times and minimize time to productivity.
Lead a team of learning professionals responsible for the sales training ecosystem, governance, and measurement. Create customized development plans to support the team's career mobility.
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in leading a progressive talent learning and development or sales enablement for >$10B in revenue or 8- 10 years of experience when combined with a master's degree in training & development, organizational development, or a related field.
A thought leader in the learning & development field with proven experience leveraging industry trends, emerging and leading-edge practices, and technologies; pragmatic, understands what will work at scale.
Extensive experience leading behavior change in a matrixed partner organization with complex product offerings.
Deep background in adaptive learning and demonstrated expertise in related technologies.
Superior ability to diagnose; using data and insight to drive tangible and impactful plans.
Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, strong teaming orientation, and high adaptability; comfortable presenting to large and senior audiences.
Strong influencing and consulting skills; ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and work with business leadership teams in a highly matrixed organization with executive presence and credibility.
