The Senior Systems Engineer is a subject matter expert in their field and within the organization. The Senior Systems Engineer identifies and resolves technical issues which typically have significant impact to the company and leads projects of notable organizational profile within the Thermal controls function. The Senior Systems Engineer takes responsibility for the identification, planning, and execution of Thermal controls for the Edge Thermal Product Line, ensuring the functionality and communication among the different technologies within the products developed in the different projects assigned. The Systems Engineer is responsible for defining the controls aspects for new projects/products, field resolution and product improvements (VAVE) via input from our Offering and Sales team on the operation of our products.
This position will be based onsite at our Westerville, OH location.
Responsibilities:
Work with Product Development team (Product Management, Engineers, Service) to understand new control needs.
Develop detailed control specifications, feature requirements, & use cases for new & updated features
Work with programmers & testers to implement & test control features.
Understand test requirements to support firmware (bench & simulator), Product Development (unit & hardware), & System (multi-unit) Testing
Provide input on resource requirements, development time, & prioritization of control development requests
Requirements:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent required; MS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field would be beneficial.
Demonstrated expertise in mechanical design for critical infrastructure systems.
Demonstrated success in leading teams to accomplish project implementations on time, on budget, and with high quality.
7+ years of design experience within the Thermal Engineering field.
5+ years of design experience with controls operation.
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required (estimated 10% of time outside the Columbus, OH area)
Solid communications skills, with fluency in both written and spoken English.
