Heavy Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician




Where will you work: Where will you work: Onsite at our Riverview phosphate Plant - 8813 HWY 41 South | Riverview, FL 33578. Some relocation assistance is available for potential candidates.



As a heavy industrial electrical instrumentation technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, perform preventative maintenance, calibrate, and install electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment across the entire plant or mine. This includes working with med-low voltage systems, AC and DC systems, lighting, motors, receptacles, starters, drives, power supply wiring (including conduit), transformers, programmable controllers, and electrical components, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. You will thrive in this role if you are detail oriented with the ability to work in an outdoor industrial work environment with exposure to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.



What you'll do:



  • Maintain and repair motors, starters, drives, and/or medium-to-high voltage systems up to 4160 volts


  • Troubleshoot and test electrical systems


  • Execute work orders and respond to emergencies in the plant or mine


  • Maintain equipment that monitors flow, temperature, density, and pressure


  • Remain vigilant about issues that could impact fellow workers' safety or the environment.


  • Update asset lists and drawing





What you'll need:



  • High school diploma or GED


  • A combination of experience in a heavy industrial environment and education will be considered. IE: Graduation from an accredited electrical program


  • Experience troubleshooting heavy industrial electrical equipment such as wiring and creating motor controls


  • Ability to read and understand motor drawings, one-line drawings and/or P&ID drawings and schematics


  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite


  • Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safely working at heights


  • Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles


  • Responsible for the safe and compliant storage, inspection, usage of tools and equipment

  • Associate degree in vocational, electrical, instrumentation, or automation


  • IBEW apprenticeship and Phosphate industry
