The Han Lab at the Michigan State University is looking for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to carry out the field test of EliteTreeTM transgenic poplars, which are engineered to have accelerated stem growth and increased secondary cell wall formation. The transgenic poplars are in their 2nd-year growth in the field under a 5-year USDA APHIS permit. Successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary team comprised of researchers in the fields of woody biomass feedstock improvement and products development (e.g., biofuel, briquettes/pellets, lignin products) to pursue research funded by the USDA NIFA STTR program.
