Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY 


The Security Command Center Supervisor is expected to provide leadership to the Security Command Operators while working in conjunction with the Corporate Security Team to implement a physical security program that safeguards company assets and maintains regulatory compliance. This role provides oversight of the day-to-day security command center operations as well as assist in the planning, administering and review of all physical security strategies, policies, and procedures. Additionally, will lead the development and training of new and existing Security Command Center employees.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provides direct supervision to Security Command Operators; Establishes individual goals for Security Command Operators. 

  • Responsible for real-time physical security monitoring and initial response actions.

  • Establishes clear goals and direction for the Security Command Center.

  • Ensures all SCC shifts are adequately staffed; 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week/ 365 days a year

  • Performs After-Action Review of Security Command Operator response and work products.

  • Leads SCC Training & Exercise Program and coordinates activities with internal resources. 

  • Coordinates with the Corporate Security Team on policies and procedures that directly impact SCC activities.

  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and advancement of the SCC; Oversees or provides support to key initiatives and projects impacting SCC.

  • Ensures routine testing and assessment of security systems for availability and functionality.

  • Identifies relevant intelligence or security information and disseminates appropriately.

  • Ensures that all applicable electric utility related regulatory and security procedures are adhered to.

  • Provides subject matter expertise and performs after action reviews for security related events; share key findings with operations leadership. 

  • Represents SCC within the Company and on external working groups and committees.


REQUIREMENTS



  • Associate degree Criminal Justice, Public Safety Administration, Security Management, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Engineering or Business Administration or related field.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility security operations or in real-time security monitoring of critical infrastructure.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience. 

  • Ability to partner cross-functionally across the entire organization; strong relationship building capabilities.

  • Strong operational knowledge of security systems such as: Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VMS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and associated hardware.

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams).

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors and individuals inside and outside the company with a high degree of professionalism and knowledge. Must have strong collaboration and conflict management skills.

  • Must be a self-motivated, highly dependable, and independent with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and meet challenging and changing deadlines.

  • Experience with incident response and familiar with the Incident Command System (ICS).

  • Experience with the development, execution, and evaluation of training (e.g. utilization of HSEEP principles). 

  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality towards security related matters. 

  • An understanding of regulatory compliance programs related to the security of critical infrastructure.

  • Attend training or relevant seminars and conferences as necessary.

  • An understanding of federal regulatory compliance programs related to the electric utility environment (FERC, NERC and other critical security programs mandated by the government).
