Eurofins DiscoverX Corporation is searching for a Scientist based in San Diego CA.
The Scientist I will support the cell based screening and compound management operation. Responsibilities include screening support for routine panel runs or HTS campaigns, data analysis, and hit follow-up. Other laboratory tasks include registering and acoustic dispense of compound plates, and maintain compound inventory. Qualified candidates should have at least a bachelor degree in science. Experience working in an industry screening operation is preferred.
Scientist I - Cell Based Assay Screening responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Optimize and execute 384-well format cell-based assays following SOPs
Routinely operate and QC liquid handling instruments and plate readers (e.g EnVision, Multidrop Combi or vertical pipetting stations)
Analyze screening results, provide initial data QC using Spotfire and QC screening runs in internal database.
Maintain and thaw mammalian cell lines and cell suspensions according to the screening need.
Maintain TC consumables and regular maintenance of liquid nitrogen tanks
Optimize assay conditions in order to improve assay performance and increase throughput.
Create plate maps for acoustic dispensing
Set up acoustic dispense runs to provide compound plates for routine panel runs, HTS campaigns and follow-up screens
Support reagent preparation and compound registration
Create stock and batch solutions for Compound Management
Being conscientious and active learner
Good record keeping in lab notebook following SOP
Perform general laboratory maintenance or lean improvement tasks
Detailed documentation in laboratory notebook
Participates in lab and scheduling meetings and actively communicate updates and issues

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as standard operating procedures and technical reports

Ability to solve practical problems and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work in a laboratory setting, according to the physical requirements of a laboratory role
Above average oral and written communication skills
Demonstrates a positive attitude and capacity for team environment
Ability to troubleshoot and conduct small projects with minimal supervision
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor Degree in Science with 2 years' experience working in an industry laboratory operation environment
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living in the San Diego California area are encouraged to apply.
