Job Description:

The Machinist perform repairs, overhaul, and rework of aviation parts, tooling and components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operates manual machines, mills (small and large), lathes, grinders, and other machinery


• Operates a CNC machine. We operate a HAAS 3 axis mill and a CNC machine


• Performs rework on aviation components parts and tooling


• Changes and sets cutting tools


• Modifies and grinds tools as needed


• Works within very tight tolerances


• Studies and interprets engineer drawings, blueprints, manuals, and specifications


• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required


• Minimum 5 years’ experience in manual machining required


• Prior machining experience in aviation industry preferred


• Experience with manual machines


• Experience with CNC machines


• Experience with large jig bore machine is a plus


• Ability to use precision measuring equipment and hand tools appropriate to the assigned tasks


• Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as needed


• Ability to work in a shop environment or outdoors locally or in remote locations as needed for customer support


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
