We are seeking a full-time Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of shift production with Production Management in processing materials or manufacturing products, machines, and equipment.
Essential Functions
Provide continuous, swift, and accurate feedback to Production Management regarding all aspects of shift production
Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product specifications and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan shift operations
Plan production operations, establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilize information from Production Management as well as knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities and staffing requirements
Assist in the preparation of operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to insure the production and quality of products meet specifications
Enforce production processes/methods to insure proper handling of products/equipment
Directly supervise various levels of team members by setting the tone for the team environment and providing individualized coaching, training, performance evaluation and mentoring while spending a minimum of 50% of time on the production floor
Analyze manufacturing schedule to plan work assignments for group on basis of priority, worker skills, production methods, processes, material, machines and equipment
Review work orders, product specifications, technical instructions and facility requirements and facilitate requisition of tools, equipment and supplies with Production Management
Demonstrate work methods such as wire routing, assembly, inspection sequence and test equipment operation
Examine product in accordance with manufacturing and quality standards to insure acceptability
Review and compile operations records such as yield, scrap and maintenance costs and assist with related reports
Participate in work of associates by performing such tasks as setup, operation, repair and troubleshooting
Apply expertise to continuously improve products, processes and associates
Monitor security of building, equipment, and occupants during hours of minimal occupation
Provide seamless turnover of shift activities to the on-coming Shift Supervisor or Manager and evaluate equipment and processes to insure personnel safety
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Material Management or related operations field AND a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated operations leadership experience OR an equivalent combination of education, military training and experience
Must possess previous supervisory experience or demonstrated experience in leading, training, mentoring, and/or developing other team members
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Must possess proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
Desired Qualifications
5+ years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or operations related environment
3+ years experience in production or process operations
Training or mentoring in a related field
Experience in DFT or Lean Manufacturing methods
Previous Oracle experience
