The Materials Control Lead is responsible for managing and overseeing various aspects of materials control, dock procedures, and expedited parts processes to ensure efficient operations and timely materials delivery. The Lead will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the smooth flow of materials within the assigned responsibilities. This position is located inside the customer facility.
Position available on 2nd shift: 2nd:
2:30 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday-Friday with some required Saturday's.
Essential Functions

Ensure all materials are delivered without any damage and maintain quality control throughout the supply chain. Manage and resolve issues related to material overages, shortages, and damages. Oversee and enforce standard operating procedures for dock operations. Implement and monitor an early warning system based on minimum/maximum inventory levels and a 5-alarm process. Coordinate emergency pick and shipping processes to meet urgent material requirements. Develop and maintain a comprehensive plan for every part in inventory. Identify and resolve material-related issues promptly and efficiently. Ensure accurate and timely updates in system. Regularly verify and maintain accurate records of material balances. Manage and expedite the process for critical parts requiring immediate attention. Utilize the system to manage returnable containers and dunnage. Coordinate materials for pilot and pre-production phases. Oversee materials required for production trial runs. Manage the flow of materials for regular production activities. Coordinate rework activities and ensure materials are correctly processed. Use the WMS to manage the receipt and storage of materials in designated areas. Utilize the system to manage the return of empty containers to Tier 1 suppliers. Review Special Purchase Order (SPO) and Customer Complaint Analysis (CCA) requests for material needs. Verify door access and railcar numbers for incoming and outgoing shipments. Manage the check-in process for over-the-road (OTR) drivers. Prepare unload and reload packets for forklift drivers. Generate picklists for outbound loads. Print and manage manifests. Collect and process finished manifests, tally sheets, and rail tally sheets. Maintain and update the SPO spreadsheet with relevant information. Maintain the electronic dock board current with the latest dock status. Communicate dock status updates. Coordinate with trailer moves as needed.

The associate may occasionally be required to lift 51 pounds, anything greater than 51 pounds requires assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
This job is performed in the customer facility, a busy warehouse environment with high forklift traffic. Warehouses are subject to seasonal temperatures. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and vests are required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required.
Travel
Some travel is expected between locations.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent - a bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field (preferred). Proven experience in materials control or a similar role. Strong understanding of inventory management and logistics processes. Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
