Job Description:

3rd Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am (May work some weekends when needed)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.


Inspect, operate, or test machinery/equipment to detect malfunctions or defects in physical structures. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following standard procedures.


Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment/machinery and physical structures to ensure the functionality and condition does not deteriorate. Such activities may include cleaning or lubricating shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery, devices or control instruments.


Repair or replace defective machine/equipment parts, or physical structures using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble machine/equipment.


Assist with the disassembly, assembly, installation, or repair of building structures, machinery, or equipment.


Assist with the performance of work that may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing fixtures, buildings, floors, or stairs.


Maintain accurate records on work requests and completion, type of maintenance or repair work, and other similar records.


Communicate with supervisor and relevant personnel on work progress, status, and any unusual circumstances or issues.


Train new associates in appropriate safety procedures, work instructions and quality standards.


Actively contribute to continuous process improvement.


Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities; meet training and/or certification requirements of the job, department, product or area as designated/defined in work instructions and quality standards.


Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED plus 2 years or more Vocational/Technical Program, or equivalent; and over 3 months up to and including 6 months; or any combination of education, experience and training.


Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers.


Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Perform the four operations with like common and decimal fractions. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units.


Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in or from standardized situations.


Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and experience in the use/application of: Microsoft Office Suite, Maintenance Management systems, PLC controls programming.


Certificates and Licenses:
May be required to hold certification for the operation of industrial trucks.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be engaging in these physical activities:
This job is performed while standing most of the time. It entails walking, pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, crouching or kneeling. The ability to be precise and focused, understand the different components of industrialized machines and detect problems is essential to this job. The hands and fingers are used extensively to manipulate the controls of equipment/machinery, turn valves/dials/knobs, check materials and use tools to repair equipment.


This job requires the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) with or without corrective lenses. It also requires sustained mental concentration and visual effort.


This job requires that the person be able to independently lift or exert the amount of force or weight within the frequency specified below:
This job performs Medium Work. It requires the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to the operation of industrial equipment and machinery.


This job will be performed under the environmental factors given below:


The primary work location for this job is on the production floor which may or may not climate controlled, has operating industrial machinery and equipment, movement of materials and people and may or may not expose you to fumes or airborne particles (cotton dust).


The work environment characteristics described above necessitates the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The employee must wear the following prescribed personal protective equipment at all times while performing the duties of this job: safety glasses/goggles, closed shoes, hearing protection and other protective equipment as specified by OSHA and other federal/state regulations.
