Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, one of America's most iconic Insurance organizations (based in NYC), is seeking a Tax Reporting Specialist. This crucial, visible role offers outstanding professional challenges, excellent compensation and benefits and a flexible(hybrid) work environment

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure filing of quarterly premium tax returns by third-party provider are completed timely

  • The Tax Reporting Specialist will review and approve annual premium tax returns prepared by third-party provider

  • Oversee and resolve premium tax/statutory reporting issues with various states

  • Oversee and resolve premium tax/statutory reporting audits with various states

  • Ensure assessment payments to various jurisdictions are paid timely

  • Reconcile premium tax payments quarterly between company records and third-party provider

  • Manage Tritech software (maintain subscription/communicate issues; Upgrade software as needed; Upload page 14 data; use other electronic features)

  • Reconcile surcharge accounts quarterly

  • Prepare annual premium tax accrual

  • The Tax Reporting Specialist will prepare annual federal income tax return

  • Print WINS checks







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years of tax experience; Premium tax compliance and Federal tax compliance preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365

  • Proficiency with advanced Excel functions, such as formulas, vlookup and pivot tables

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent planning and organization skills

  • May be required to work additional hours during tax season






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
