The Princeton Writing Program invites applications for Lecturers to teach topic-based, multidisciplinary Writing Seminars to first-year students. We welcome applications from candidates with strong interests in writing pedagogy and from all fields of study in the social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and engineering. College-level teaching experience and the Ph.D. are expected. The typical teaching load is two Writing Seminars per term. As part of this teaching-intensive program, faculty benefit from regular pedagogy workshops and professional development opportunities. The initial appointment is expected to run August 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and may be renewable twice for a total of three academic years of appointment. Reappointment decisions are made according to the needs of the Program and on the merit of each applicant's record of teaching, service, and scholarship. After four semesters in the Program, Lecturers with a strong record may participate in a review process to extend their term beyond the usual three years with expanded expectations for curricular development and service. The salary for full-time Lecturers with a PhD will be a minimum of $83,700. Benefits-eligible full-time positions also include the opportunity to apply for research grants and travel grants. The Writing Program is committed to sustaining a diverse community of scholars who are dedicated to promoting a culture of growth and discovery among students at the University. We strongly encourage women and members from underrepresented groups to apply.
The application deadline for full consideration is January 13, 2025. For more information and application details, please visit: https://writing.princeton.edu/about/teaching-opportunities/writing-seminars
