Job Description:



The Writing Institute is seeking an experienced creative writer, teacher, and editor to run a weekly writing accountability group for creative writing MFA students. This is a part-time position (2 hours/week). The group will meet online or in person and will take up issues of productivity, planning and writing work, editing and revising, and creating a sustainable writing practice. The group will also take up issues of professional development for graduate students preparing to finish their degrees as needed.

As a department that values inclusive and welcoming environments in which to work and learn, we are interested in hearing from candidates whose lived experiences would prove resourceful in mentoring students of diverse backgrounds, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities.

All applicants must hold an MA or MFA in English and have significant experience teaching writing, editing other writers' work, engaging with graduate students working on an MFA, and supporting writers in an accountability context. Experience working in a writing center would be helpful.

  • 2 course syllabi or one syllabus plus a description of a relevant workshop or conference session you have facilitated.
