Direct and coordinate the administration of all SAP systems and database systems to meet service level expectations of availability, performance, and security to support goals and objectives of the Corporation. In collaboration with the Director - Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for developing the strategy and vision of SAP Infrastructure by gaining expertise and input from appropriate resources, and for managing the day-to-day tactical operations of the Basis and Database administrators.

*What You Do.*

Oversee SAP Systems landscape including:

Primary Responsibilities

* Implementation and administration of client strategies, development classes, and correction and transport strategies for the successful implementation of SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC (ERP), SAP Business Warehouse (BW), SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM), and SAP Solution Manager systems, as well as any other SAP systems being installed. System management including managing, installing, and maintaining all software used to run these systems (if on-premise), assisting in troubleshooting and technical system support, and resource monitoring.

* Oversee SAP Basis administration including: Installation, maintenance, upgrade, monitoring and support of SAP systems, and prioritize and coordinates activities to assure the optimal performance, capacity and security of application systems and services.

* Design, configuration, security, and the development of specialized programs in both on-premise and cloud-based SAP systems

* Development and implementation of overall security roles and strategies to ensure the proper level of authorization is provided for all users of the SAP systems. Lead the development of guidelines for deploying these strategies throughout the Sargento organization.

* Performance-timing benchmarks for the production SAP environments. Monitor the system performance on a regular basis and actively tune the system for peak performance. Work with the SAP EarlyWatch program to assist with monitoring the performance

Additional Responsibilities

* Administrate Change Management: Oversee comprehensive change management infrastructure through integration with a wide range of SAP and third-party applications. Establish a consistent and repeatable processes for managing software change management. Validate software across end-to-end business processes and application functionality before releasing changes. Coordinate with application teams to identify and resolve process problems when desired outcomes are not being met.

* Oversee Database Systems administration including: Installation, maintenance, upgrades, monitoring and support of all SAP Hana, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP liveCache (MaxDB) database software, Oracle and perform the verification process for each database affected. Monitoring database performance, tablespace requirements, overall tuning parameters, and security to ensure sufficient throughput to meet the needs of the users. Maintain database backup and recovery plans and procedures to ensure all corporate databases are sufficiently backed up to allow effective Disaster Recovery.

* Perform additional management duties including: Manage diverse projects and teams, including internal resources as well as vendors and consulting partners. Work with wide latitude for un-reviewed action or decision; accept strategic oversight and direction on major initiatives. Manage onsite and offsite consultants measuring performance based on the specific Statements of Work and ensuring only appropriate charges are invoiced. Accessible to receive off-hour calls by carrying a functioning cell phone at all times, except when on vacation, to facilitate prompt problem resolution.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Directly supervises two to five non-supervisory employees within SAP systems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supports employee's development plans to enhance their skills and abilities, facilitates people empowerment and fosters cross-functional team collaboration.

 

*Your Education and Experience.*

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years relevant experience leading SAP Basis and System Administrators.

* Strong and visible leadership with the ability to motivate, energize and drive performance from your team.
