Overview:


Our client, a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is looking for a Civil Designer to join their growing team and be responsible for developing detailed site improvement drawings, maps and other drafting documentation using the latest standards. They will work in a collaborative team under direct supervision of a licensed engineer to complete both residential and commercial projects for a variety of clients. This is a long-term, direct hire position in Vancouver, WA.


Pay range: $72K - $85K annually DOE

Responsibilities:

• Creating construction plans and sketches, either from initial rough designs or detailed instructions, and making any necessary revisions
• Producing precise construction drawings for civil engineering projects and site enhancements
• Gathering and integrating data, including topographical and geological studies, into drafting documents like drawings and maps
• Revising drawings based on various inputs such as field notes, red lines, and mark ups, while ensuring accuracy through data verification and quality control processes
• Accessing current regulatory data from different sources to confirm that drawings are updated with the latest industry standards
• Offering additional engineering assistance as required, always under the direct oversight of a certified civil engineer
• Organizing and managing project-related drawing files, records, and documentation, while adhering to schedules and meeting project deadlines
• Collaborate with project partners

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program required
• 2+ years of civil engineering design experience required, 3+ years' experience preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required
• EIT Required
• Experience with residential subdivision land development preferred
• Experience with stormwater modeling and hydrology modeling software preferred
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Outstanding verbal and written skills, and experience working with staff on all levels
• Excels in advanced thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
