Campus Health (CH) is a multi-specialty ambulatory college health clinic providing quality, and affordable health care for eligible students and spouses. Annually, CH has more than 80,000 patient encounters, which includes Primary Care and Women's Health as well as specialty clinics in sports medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, physical therapy, counseling and psychological services, travel clinic and allergy clinic. Weekend acute care is provided from 8-5 PM. On site ancillary services include pharmacy, OTC pharmacy, Student Stores pharmacy, medical laboratory, and radiology.
Campus Health has been continuously accredited since 1986 by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. All personnel are trained in the concepts and principles of Performance Improvement and serve as team members and leaders in shaping and defining the organization as it strives to provide quality and safe care.
Campus Health collaborates with Student Wellness and Campus Recreation and other Student Affairs partners to provide education and outreach to assist in keeping the campus population healthy.
Education and research comprise another important function of CH. CH provides clinical rotations and practicums for students in the School of Education, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work and Public Health, Department of Medical Technology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Health and Radiology. In addition, CH serves as a research site for a number of faculty and graduate student grants and contracts, where CH staff participates with the principal investigators across a variety of medical specialties.
This position is eligible for a Sign On Bonus of $2,000 to be paid in two installment:
- $ 1,000 within 30 days of your hire date and
- $ 1,000 12 months after hire date
Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the pharmacy technician with Campus Health performs the technical tasks of many pharmacy-related functions, in accordance with local, state, and federal laws; professional and accreditation standards; and organizational policies and procedures. Pharmacy-related functions include greeting of clients, entry of prescription data into the QS/1 pharmacy computer system; preparation, packaging, and labeling of prescribed medications for dispensing by the pharmacist; operation of a cash register; and maintenance of medication inventory for the pharmacy and patient care areas.
Completion of an accredited nine-month Pharmacy Technician program; or high school diploma or equivalency and one year of pharmacy-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some positions may require certification as a Pharmacy Technician.

Excellent interpersonal skills; excellent customer service skills; knowledge of electronic filing of insurance claims to third party insurance companies; proficient in using pharmacy computer software.
Experience with QS/1 preferred; efficiency in a fast paced work environment; superior work ethic (self-motivated, responsible, reliable); highly effective time and project management skills; positive attitude; experience and knowledge in communicating and working with a college age population (strong preference given to those with experience working in a college health environment).
Certificate from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
The work of the pharmacy technician requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing or sitting; walking to on-site clinics; recurring bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; use of step stools to retrieve supplies from high shelves; and occasional moving / lifting of moderately heavy (40 pounds) items such as inventory or record boxes with or without accommodation.
