Primary job duties include patient recruitment, communication with study participants, medical record abstraction (primarily Epic) into REDCap data collection forms, literature reviews, and other tasks as assigned. The position will also assist in manuscript preparation, with opportunities to be included as a co-author. Successful candidates will have a background in clinical research, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience working with medical records, in some capacity (Epic is a plus).
The position reports to the Project Manager, and meets regularly with the study team including PI, Data Scientist, Data Manager, and other Research Specialists. Due to the nature of the work, selected candidates should have experience working independently and the ability to work with a diverse team of researchers.
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical terminology, medical records, patient recruitment, and/or clinical research.
Basic understanding of scientific methods and conduction of research studies.
Requires ability to sit, use a computer for extended periods of time, and attend meetings on the UNC Chapel Hill campus with or without reasonable accommodation.
