CORE JOB SUMMARY
:
The Senior Buyer - Charge Analyst coordinates the medication procurement process, and oversees and maintains appropriate inventory stock levels. The incumbent also monitors procurement related paperwork and ensures appropriate dating of medications.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
Procures and conducts inventory control of pharmaceuticals.
Alerts senior managing staff of changes in buying trends, including any unusual use of drugs and use of new costly drugs.
Purchases all pharmaceuticals for the assigned facilities.
Receives and verifies shipments from vendors and suppliers.
Participates in continuous quality improvement.
Keeps abreast of contract changes and prepares vendor shipment returns.
Maintains appropriate inventory levels of drugs and supplies while staying within established budgets.
Coordinates disposal of all expired medications.
Prepares department for annual inventory, including updating shelf labels, inventory supply forms, and databases.
Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
Communicates shortages of medication or changes in medication stock availability.
Maintains invoicing for all drug and supply accounts.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Certification and Licensing:
Registered Pharmacy Technician
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
