Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Hematology/Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation, in the Biological Sciences Division, seeks full-time faculty members at any rank who specialize in the treatment of solid tumor cancers. As full-time faculty, appointees will contribute to patient care, medical education, and scholarship, and join a vibrant and distinguished community of faculty colleagues and learners in UChicago Medicine (UCM), the Biological Sciences Division, the Pritzker School of Medicine, and the University of Chicago and its affiliates. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Appointees will join the Pediatric Solid Tumor Program, a multidisciplinary program comprising of faculty members from the Sections of Hematology/Oncology, the Department of Surgery, the Department of Radiation Oncology, and the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center and affiliated sites: Advocate Children's Hospital, and NorthShore University Health System. The group is responsible for the diagnosis and management of children in the largest pediatrics program in the state of Illinois, the Chicagoland Children's Health Alliance (CCHA). We especially welcome applicants with proven excellence in clinical care, strong clinical trials and/or translational science abilities, collaborative skills, mentorship experience, and willingness to pursue the strong opportunities for academic and clinical development of the program.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Oncology, and 4) have experience in clinical or translational pediatric solid tumor research.
