ABOUT THE POSITION
Riverside County Department of Transportation and Land Management Agency (TLMA) is seeking to fill a Senior Support Services Technician in Riverside.
The Senior Support Services Technician will perform semi-skilled work and to direct and train staff in the repair and maintenance of county facilities. Additionally, the Senior Support Services Technician will p rocess orders, submit purchase orders (POs) in Peoplesoft Financials, conduct job walks, assess scope of work, manage Access Control and camera security equipment in all TLMA departments, and serve as the TLMA Agency Safety Representative.
Competitive candidates will have experience using hand tools and impact tools, demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, and be consistently proactive in addressing tasks and delivering exceptional service.
This position follows a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off and weekends off.

The County of Riverside Transportation & Land Management Agency(TLMA) is the umbrella agency for seven county departments. They are the Planning Department, Building & Safety Department, Transportation Department, Code Enforcement Department, Environmental Programs Department, Aviation Department, and the Administrative Services Department.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Performs minor repairs; monitor, and analyses building equipment and a variety of electrical and mechanical appliances; and identifies needed repairs or maintenance.
• Directs and train crews in the maintenance and repairs of county facilities, and participates in the evaluation of the quality and quantity of their work.
• Insures that cleaning, sweeping, washing, mopping, and disinfecting of buildings, furnishings, rest rooms, and equipment are accomplished effectively and properly; insures floor care schedules are adhered to, which includes striping, waxing, vacuuming, and shampooing.
• Organizes the replenishment of supplies, mixing of disinfectant solutions, moving furniture, changing curtains and drapes, and the collection and disposal of trash; performs all of the work reviewed.
• Monitors the following and reports findings: Employees' performance; supply ordering patterns and deviations; appearance of county buildings for aesthetics, and completed minor maintenance work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Four years in building maintenance and custodial work; minor repair work; basic techniques of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials and inventory control.
Knowledge of: Fundamental techniques of receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and materials; basic techniques involved in inventory control; fill requests from written purchase orders; keep records of receipts and delivery of supplies and materials; make basic arithmetical computations.
Ability to: Perform minor maintenance work in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and building plant operations; read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications; keep records; follow oral and written directions.

Other Requirements
License/Certificate: Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License is required. The Senior Support Services Technician will drive County vehicles throughout the County to perform job duties.

Pre-Employment

DEFERRED COMPENSATION: Voluntary employee contribution with a choice between two 457 deferred compensation plan options.
VACATION ACCRUAL (Bi-Weekly Accrual):
0< 3 year = 80 Hours (10 Days)
4< 9 years = 120 Hours (15 Days)
10 or more years = 160 Hours (20 Days)
Maximum Vacation leave accumulation is 480 hours.
SICK LEAVE: Four (4) hours Sick Leave accrual per pay period with unlimited accrual.
HOLIDAYS: Normally 12 paid holidays per year
BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: Allowed 5 days (3 days are County paid; 2 additional days can be taken from accrued Sick Leave balance)
BASIC LIFE INSURANCE: Equal to one times annual base salary not to exceed $50,000 of term life coverage. Premiums are paid by the County. Additional Supplemental Life plan is available for employee purchase.
DISABILITY: Short-term Disability benefit pays up to a maximum of $461.54 weekly, payable up to a maximum of 52 weeks.
POST RETIREMENT MEDICAL CONTRIBUTION: A monthly contribution is made by the County towards retiree health insurance offered through the County as governed by the applicable Memorandum of Understanding.
