ECL is searching for a Team Leader, Specimen Management in Lancaster, PA. To oversee the activities within the Specimen Management department, ensuring the timely execution of all deliverables and enabling the seamless execution of laboratory analysis. Service deliverables include, but are not limited to, the processing of incoming specimens, capture of all accompanying data, documenting of deviations, and execution of specimen services per work lists while ensuring chain of custody from box opened until next service destination using manual or electronic means.


Team Leader, Specimen Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :


  • Owns the execution and performance of the process for handling incoming specimens' shipments, from arrival through hand-off to the laboratory.
  • Monitor local delivery times for trends, escalating as appropriate to global logistics and inform all departments when deliveries are delayed or service interrupted for any reason.
  • Monitor daily operations and proactively address deviations to staff members to meet Service Levels and ensure compliance with SOPs and globally harmonized processes.
  • Schedule staffing and activities in the department to ensure timely execution of services.
  • Participate as required in daily department activities, including responsibility of daily stand-up meetings, flex and priority staffing, to ensure the seamless execution of services.
  • Assist with writing Global Specimen Management SOPs.
  • Actively participate with global management in process improvement initiatives.
  • Actively participate in launching, implementing , and executing special projects


The ideal candidate would possess :

  • Proven (testimonial and/or references) track record of 2-3 years as a successful senior employee or team leader.
  • Basic knowledge of English.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Flexible working hours including weekends.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to set priorities and work accurately under deadlines.
  • Capable of resolving problems and escalate as appropriate.
  • Prolonged usage of computer systems (>75% time).


Basic Minimum Qualifications :

  • Professional or Technical degree (minimum 2-year apprenticeship or equivalent) following legally mandatory education.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a production environment, preferably in healthcare.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with enterprise-grade application (LIMS preferred).

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., with rotating Saturdays and overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.
