Summary
Perform the snow removal duties of an Equipment Operator for the Streets Department. Alternate snowplow drivers supplement and substitute regular snowplow drivers for the City of Fort Collins during the winter season. There are no guaranteed hours and work schedules vary. Drivers must be flexible to work day or night shifts for weather events.

• Operates and maintains equipment such as snowplows and dump trucks.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Experience Requirements

• No experience required. Minimum age 18.

Certifications/Licenses/Specialized Training

• Class B Commercial Driver License Required. Tanker endorsement preferred. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations require that the individual(s) selected for this position must successfully pass a controlled substance test, as well as a DOT physical examination. Current City employees transferring from a non-safety sensitive position to a safety sensitive position will be required to successfully pass these tests and the physical examination. May require Class A CDL for some assignments.
