Compensation: $19.25/hour

Essential Functions (other duties as assigned):


  • Assume leadership roles both during individual work days, and of entire projects as assigned by Supervisor

  • As requested, assist with site prep work that goes into a project from clearing to foundation in order to gain experience with this stage of construction

  • Gain proficiency at a variety of back-office tasks required of a Site Supervisor including ordering, scheduling, invoice approvals, construction workflow and critical path planning, sub-contractor expectations and management

  • Communicate effectively with other internal departments (Development, Volunteer Coordination, Family Services, etc) to ensure smooth completion of projects from start to finish

  • Plan for each workday to ensure that all necessary resources - material and human - are available to complete the task list

  • Perform or supervise, monitor, and delegate tasks to volunteers, homeowners and other team members as appropriate

  • As requested, provide leadership on special construction projects such as off-site builds and events

  • Provide a safe working environment at all times abiding by all Habitat Charlotte Region, OSHA, and EPA safety standards

  • Maintain Habitat equipment, as assigned

  • Habitat Charlotte Region related tasks and training opportunities as requested by supervisor

  • Show initiative

Physical requirements:


  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding

  • Ability to work and maneuver on roofs and high spaces

  • Ability to work in tight confines and within crawlspaces

  • Ability to maneuver over uneven ground

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted

  • Ability to stand most or all of any given day

  • Ability to work outside for extended periods of time during all months of the year

  • Ability to perform basic computer skills

Level of authority: Responsible for the oversight of specific construction tasks and projects. Does not have direct reports.

Personal Vehicle: Reliable transportation to work is required

Service Week: Tuesday - Saturday

Estimated Time Commitment: 40+ hours/week
