Salary: $135,000.00 USD Annually - $145,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client, a very top food manufacturing company, is currently seeking a Logistics Manager
Prefer local but may offer relocation to MD/DC/VA area for the right candidate. Generous bonus as well as excellent benefits on top of base salary.
This role will be engaged broadly with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Marketing and Senior Management. This is considered a critical role in their success to high levels of service with customers and also with logistics cost management. Broad exposure is expected and requires insightful analysis.
Analyze, recommend and implement Logistics opportunities driven by continually achieving a lowest cost to serve model within Logistics.
Responsibilities:
Transportation Cost Control & Analysis
• Develop, maintain and report transportation metrics with the overall goal of ensuring that they are constantly working toward a lowest cost model. Involves working with 3rd party transportation provider and finance to constantly improve and automate metrics. Includes but is not limited to the following activities:
Develop & analysis of 3PL routing guide
Spot market transportation control & analysis
Cost pass-through auditing & analysis
Load cube analysis & optimization
Product returns evaluation
Maintenance of monthly data feeds from 3PL
Lead and/or participate in special studies & projects as needed for impacting the Supply Chain.
Recommend and implement alternatives to management when service and cost risks are identified.
Warehouse Cost Management
• Develop strategies with our 3PL partner to reduce costs.
• Audit all 3PL warehouse billings.
• Develop, maintain and report metrics on this area. Develop automation of metrics through SAP.
Blocked Stock Inventory Management
• Manage old age, QA held, warehouse and shipping damaged and obsolete inventories. Accountable for overall minimization of product loss. Includes analysis of inventory data and also the coordination of finding best opportunities for minimizing risk of write-offs. Possible outlets include but not limited to rework, repack, salvage sale and donation.
• Develop and implement process changes across the plants, carriers, warehouses, customers to minimize inventory loss and damage from point of production to decrease overall inventory levels while keeping excellent service levels to our customers.
• Develop, maintain and report metrics on this area. Develop automation of metrics through SAP.
