We are looking for a dynamic and proactive engineer to support all phases of the program lifecycle, including concept development, design, requirements development, implementation, integration, launch, commissioning, operations, and maintenance. This role is ideal for an experienced systems engineer who can manage requirements, CONOPS, and architecture for missions involving Space Vehicles, Ground Systems, Payloads, and Spacecraft Buses.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide systems engineering support for the development and implementation of Requirements, CONOPS, Architecture, Integration, and On-Orbit Maintenance of Space Missions.
Collaborate with the program chief engineer and chief systems engineer.
Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering tools and processes daily to develop and document systems.
Adapt to a dynamic environment with evolving timelines and technical maturity.
Execute tasks across multiple systems engineering areas (e.g., CONOPS, architecture, requirements, interfaces).
Prepare and deliver presentations to peers, management, and customers.
Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
Foster effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the company.
Interact positively with others to maintain a productive work environment.
Perform additional duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular on-site engagement, working five days a week at the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in various environments, including offices, laboratories, production floors, cleanrooms, outdoors, or remote research settings.
May occasionally work in production centers requiring protective equipment.
May need to access other facilities in different weather conditions.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, with 8+ years of experience in mission systems, spacecraft systems, ground systems, or payload systems.
Higher-level degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) may substitute for two years of experience. Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degrees must be from accredited institutions recognized by the US Department of Education.
Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Strong attention to detail with an understanding of the broader context of complex projects.
Knowledge of the traditional systems engineering lifecycle, phases, processes, inputs/outputs, and artifacts.
Expertise in Cameo Enterprise Architecture, SysML, and DoDAF/UAF/UPDM.
Familiarity with missions and customers across core technology areas.
Excellent presentation skills with experience briefing senior decision-makers and technical audiences.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Systems Modeling Language (SysML) Certification or experience applying SysML in complex, multi-user projects.
