Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our outpatient clinic. As a Physical Therapist, you will evaluate, plan, and administer programs to help patients restore function, prevent disability, and enhance their physical and functional abilities. You will work closely with patients, utilizing assessment techniques and evidence-based interventions to create individualized care plans.
Essential Functions:
Evaluate patients and gather relevant data from medical records, physician reports, and patient/family input.
Develop appropriate care plans, including modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups, and patient education.
Set functional goals in collaboration with patients and provide evidence-based interventions to work towards meeting these goals.
Document evaluations, progress notes, treatment records, patient/family education, outcomes, and discharge notes accurately and timely.
Communicate patient evaluations and progress to physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff.
Coordinate patient schedules and treatment programs, as well as discharge planning.
Provide supervision to Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Rehab Tech/Aide, ensuring compliance with licensure requirements.
Physical Requirements:
Adequate hearing (corrected) for oral/aural communication.
Sufficient vision (corrected) for reading.
Clear and intelligible speech, along with adequate language and cognitive skills to perform job duties.
Regular sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day.
Ability to climb stairs, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead as required.
Lift patients, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Rarely perform lateral transfers of patients weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to demonstrate exercises and activities to patients/caregivers.
Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks when necessary.
Work in a fast-paced clinical environment, primarily indoors with occasional outdoor tasks.
Skills:
Valid North Carolina license for Physical Therapy.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy program.
