Baer is looking for a Cyber Data Engineer for a 3+ month remote project
Title: Cyber Data Engineer
Location: Remote (Must be based in US)
Duration: 3 months
Rate: All-inclusive

Description:
- Architect and implement secure, high-performance data pipelines to support cybersecurity operations, ensuring data is collected, processed, and transferred securely and efficiently.
- Design and optimize data architectures that integrate cybersecurity tools, platforms, and data sources, ensuring robust data flows and high availability.
- Work closely with cybersecurity analysts, data scientists, and infrastructure teams to understand their data needs and develop data solutions that enable them to carry out security analysis and threat detection effectively.
- Ensure all data handling and storage practices comply with internal security policies and industry regulations. Implement encryption, data masking, and other techniques to safeguard sensitive information.
- Monitor the performance of data pipelines and systems, troubleshoot issues, and continuously optimize processes for reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Implement data validation and quality control measures to ensure data integrity and accuracy across all stages of data processing.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data pipelines, architectures, and processes. Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on data pipeline health and performance.
- Proven experience in data engineering or related roles, with a focus on designing and building secure data systems in cybersecurity or similar industries.
- Strong proficiency with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud-based data services (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, S3, etc.).
- Expertise in building and maintaining ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data security protocols and techniques, including encryption, secure data transfer, and access control mechanisms.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, including data protection, threat detection, incident response, and risk management.
- Experience with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL), data warehousing solutions, and modern data pipeline frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt).
