PURPOSE
To provide diagnostics, maintenance, and repair support for the facility and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Below is a list of essential duties of this position. NOTE: Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Using hand and power tools and/or stick welding, perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of pumps, piping, tanks, and other equipment.Dismantle machines, service or replace defective parts using standard repair or replacement parts and reassemble machines according to written instructions.Wire and rewire motors to installation and removal.Align, lubricate, and perform other maintenance duties to ensure equipment is functioning and maintained.
Ensure inventory of necessary parts is maintained.Order and stock spare parts, maintenance supplies, and similar items.Research and make recommendations of equipment/parts purchases.
Read and interpret documents/manuals related to the facility’s equipment.
Inspect equipment and facility on a regular schedule to ensure equipment and facility are functioning properly and safely per company and federal/state safety requirements.
Ensure clean-up and restoration of facility after minor or major accidents/damage (water leaks, etc.).
Build, assemble, repair, and/or paint structures within the facility using hand and power tools.
Using hand and power tools, perform preventative maintenance and repair functions on buildings and structures, including HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and minor electrical installation, and repair (high and low voltage).
Liaise with outside contractors to secure quotes/bids.Make recommendations regarding contractors.Coordinate, manage, and inspect projects done by outside contractors.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance staff, including time off requests.Responsible for staff recruitment, training, performance management, compensation, and discipline.
Observe and make recommendations regarding the efficiency of the Terminal’s processes.
Demonstrate commitment to the Responsible Care system. Participate in, promote and follow the Responsible Care system.
Take the initiative to identify problems, use judgment to find appropriate solutions and follow through on resolving issues in a timely manner.
Maintain necessary records and paperwork- both on a computerized and paper based.
Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional and appropriate manner and respond to and give feedback in a respectful and positive manner.
Support team efforts, actively work to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperate with others, and actively learn from other team members.
Report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, LICENSES, MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSES, AND QUALIFICATIONS

High school degree or G.E.D.
Valid driver’s license.
One year certificate degree from technical college in mechanical maintenance or related field.
Computer classes.
5 years experience in equipment/facility maintenance
Highly skilled and knowledgeable in construction, mechanics, electrical, plumbing, facility structures/operations and welding techniques to service and repair facilities and equipment.
Experience in management of staff and ability to lead employees.
Highly skilled in using hand and power tools and in welding.
Ability to wear safety equipment, including respirator, safety shoes, goggles, gloves, and similar equipment.
Practical working knowledge of pumps, gear boxes, bearings, chains, motors, plumbing, augers, centrifuges, and similar machine components.
Ability to diagnose and trouble-shoot problems utilizing available information.
Customer service focus.
Knowledge of bidding processes and experience in working with outside contractors.
Ability to become certified and operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and similar equipment.
Demonstrated skill in disassembling, repairing, and assembling equipment following written instructions.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, blueprints, drawings.
Ability to learn waste water systems and functions.
Ability to change duties throughout the day and to work with a variety of individuals.
Ability to interact with others (verbally and in writing) in a professional and appropriate demeanor, work effectively with a diverse group of individuals and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions and Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the individual is often exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including rain and heat/cold, noise, fumes, grease, oil, noxious odors, cleaning chemicals, paints, glues, and solvents. Approximately 90% of the workday is outdoors.
Physical Requirements/Activities: While performing the duties of this position, the individual is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb and balance on ladders of heights of 15-65’, walk on elevated walkways, docks, railcars, and tanks, access confined areas/railcar bottoms, carry and reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and use tools and equipment and communicate (talk and hear). This position involves standing/bending/stooping/walking/climbing for approximately 90% of the workday. Frequently the employee is required to kneel, bend, crawl, crouch, push, pull, lift, or twist. Occasionally the employee is required to lift or exert force of more than 50 pounds. Frequently, the employee is required to lift or exert force of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required is close vision of 20 inches or less and vision ability of greater than 3 feet.
