The Manufacturing Technology & Systems Manager plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification and maintenance of equipment and machinery (excluding molds) and the design function of closing/assembly automation.
Responsibilities
Manages automation systems construction external vendors from initial specifications and quotations through fabrication and qualification. Directs the technical aspects in the, Electric/Electronic, Automation Engineering, and Process Development departments with effective operations and cost factors.
Directs internal and external workforce needed to accomplish project completions on time and on budget.
Total system responsibility including automation, injection molding machine and the injection molding process and auxiliary equipment.
Responsible for demand side energy maintenance programs and reviewing energy invoices.
Establishes new equipment standards and ensures pollution control compliance.
Coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery, both internal and external.
Develop and maintains budgets within approved guidelines.
Select, train and develop technical staff.
Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications and authorizes payment of such equipment and deliveries.
Maintains chemical control reporting. Reviews MSDS sheets and recommends use and appropriate PPE.
When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with electrical/electronics.
5-10 years' experience in automation.
Supervisory experience required.
Microsoft Office experience required with demonstrated ability in Excel.
