Handles the administrative duties in support of Company provided benefits such as health, dental, disability, critical illness, flexible spending accounts, 401K and life insurance per Company policies and Summary Plan Descriptions.
Advises individuals regarding eligibility and coverage for such programs as health, dental, vision, group life, long- and short-term disability, retirement savings, and other such plans.
Conducts new hire Benefit Orientation meetings and ensures that new hire benefits paperwork is completed on-time and accurately.
Is knowledgeable of coverage details of each benefit plan and provides explanation of benefit plan coverage and limitations to eligible employees in a timely and accurate manner.
Constructively guides employees through benefit process and facilitates communications between employee, company and benefit provider.
May be required to support benefits administrative services on other shifts and coordinate with other benefits administrators as necessary.
Initiates sending out COBRA notices to former employees in a timely manner, and tracks notification process.
Initiates and maintains all benefit enrollment forms and confirms enrollment and change information is transmitted to benefit plan vendors in a timely manner.
Ensures that benefit enrollment and change deductions are transmitted to Database Administrator and/ or Payroll staff to meet processing deadlines.
Serves as alternative point of contact for employees seeking HR services and provides information to others in HR as appropriate.
Assists HR Department in posting approved company announcements to general employee populations (via e-mail or approved bulletin boards).
Maintains employee benefit files and assists with filing all HR paperwork
Maintains group benefits databases and employee benefit records.
Investigates and resolves benefit plan discrepancies and provides information in routine situations.
Assists in Open Enrollment activities and in distributing group benefit policy and benefit changes to employees.
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Human Resources or minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources
Strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude to utilize MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and HRIS database applications.
Proficient with HRIS data management and possess systems aptitude.
Ability to analyze issues and suggest solutions
Ability to collect and organize data for various projects
