Position Overview


The primary job duties are immigration advising of new international students and processing immigration tasks for new and current students. Advises international students and applicants about admission and U.S. immigration laws and regulations, monitors international student status, and evaluates actions to be taken when an international student's status changes. Assist with the designs and development of systems and processes to improve office workflow and automate routine administrative process, enhancing the ability of staff to accomplish the purpose and mission of the department. Training will be provided to candidates as part of the onboarding process.



Job Duties



  • Update Student Information in SEVIS: Help maintain accurate and up-to-date international student records in the SEVIS system, ensuring compliance with all federal requirements.

  • Issuing Immigration Documents: Prepare and issue required immigration documents (e.g., I-20 forms) for international students.

  • Assisting Students with Immigration Questions: Provide support and guidance to international students on immigration regulations, visa processes, and related topics.



Qualifications/Experience Required


Bachelor's degree in job related field or 4+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle.


A DSO must be either a citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the United States1.



Qualifications/Experience Preferred:


Candidates who have worked or lived in a foreign country are preferred. To ensure cultural sensitivity, candidates who have not worked or lived abroad should describe their cross-cultural experiences in their cover letter. It is also preferred that applicants have at least 1 year of experience in admissions or a related field in higher education, including some experience in international student recruitment, admission, and/or services. Some knowledge of SEVIS and Banner systems are preferred.
