To Apply: Please submit a cover letter and resume with your online application.The Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (ISCBRM) and the Ludwig Center at Stanford in the School of Medicine is seeking a Communications Manager (Unit/Program Communicator 3) to design, create, and develop communication strategy deliverables. Reporting to the DFA and working closely with the Institute Leadership team, this position provides leadership in planning, coordinating, and implementing communications for the Institute, SCBRM Graduate Program, and Ludwig Center. You will develop both internal and external written communications and design and coordinate media relations efforts. You will serve as key public relations/marketing contact to manage department's social media presence, managing all internal and external requests in coordination with department leadership. You will organize and attend publicity events for the department and divisions. You will manage and develop the department website, produce print and web materials, manage department social media accounts, develop communications strategy/branding and maintain department listservs.You possess strong written and oral communication skills, a strategic orientation, strong organization and presentation skills, a bias toward action, and a desire to learn continuously. You are a creative and technologically savvy marketing and communications professional. You can design websites that are visually appealing, user oriented, and mission driven. You are creative and artistic and can produce digital media graphics (promotional materials) and short videos that align with brand guidelines. You've created marketing and communications strategies and designed approaches for producing content. You enjoy partnering with colleagues to create and implement promotional strategies.The Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine was established to build on Stanford's leadership in the field of stem cell science. Its mission is to promote discovery, accelerate translational research and conduct training, education and outreach in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. Those who work at the institute are committed to creating a scientific and organizational environment that values research, collaboration, growth of skills and knowledge, safety, and ethical conduct. The Institute is composed of a large contingent of laboratory staff, post-docs, graduate students and other highly trained professionals. The successful candidate will need to possess the ability to connect with a diverse population of individuals including those who are socioeconomically and educationally disadvantaged, disabled, or, under-represented minorities.
CORE DUTIES INCLUDE:

    Develop communication deliverables in an area of expertise for a unit or a complex program.Develop complex communications for various content delivery channels.Develop and design complex materials according to defined requirements using software applications and mediums.Work with vendors to obtain information to evaluate quality, process, and costs to support vendor selection.Maintain knowledge by attending webinars, conferences, networking etc. to remain at the forefront of current industry standards, trends and technology.Contribute to the development of communication strategy for the unit or program.Analyze data and curate illustrations, photos, and pictures for assignments.Work in collaboration with Institutional Communicators on media relations content and other areas.May lead and train staff or supervise day-to-day work of student and/or temporary workers, including scheduling, assigning, and prioritizing workloads, setting appropriate deadlines, and reviewing work for quality and timeliness.Identify news leads, gather data, conduct interviews with researchers and write summary articles highlighting the work for press releases and online media.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Proficiency in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)/Drupal, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Stock, Adobe Premiere, MailChimp for Newsletters, Cloud Digital for Virtual Screen, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Twitter, LinkedIn Learning, Canva, Marketo and Google Analytics.Proven track record of developing and implementing content strategies that enhance brand and reputation.Experience managing multi-channel content strategies, in an academic medical or healthcare setting.Ability to navigate, coordinate and align leadership priorities, stakeholder objectives, and community sentiment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
    Excellent written and oral communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal communications groups across campus.Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex materials and communicate information in a manner easily understood.Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrated ability to perform detailed work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
    Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.Frequently stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, speaking.Occasionally grasp forcefully, writing by hand.Rarely sort/file paperwork.

The expected pay range for this position is $115,184 to $133,806 per annum (hybrid).
