OVERVIEW:


This is a 6-month fixed term position.





The expected pay range for this position is $89,914 to $90,000 per annum.

Financial Management Services (FMS), a department within Business Affairs, is responsible for creating an ecosystem which promotes innovative and sound financial administration policies and practices that balance controls, compliance, and customer service. FMS is primarily responsible for financial policy oversight, quality assurance and financial services at Stanford University and its affiliated entities. It also serves as a liaison to the hospitals and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). Stanford University is hiring a Treasury Analyst to join our Cash Operations team. The Treasury Analyst will be responsible for certain day-to-day Treasury operations, including daily cash positioning activities, merchant services activities, maintaining bank accounts and vendor relationship information and records.This position will work collaboratively to meet the university's escheatment and asset recovery requirements.





JOB PURPOSE:

Manage the daily cash operations including daily cash positioning, ensure timely internal funds flow, execute payment transactions, provide audit support, manage the petty cash program, and annual FBAR reporting.Assist with the foreign exchange hedging program, maintaining the banking structure, meeting bank regulations and compliance requirements, and supporting department metrics and reporting.






CORE DUTIES*:



  • Daily Cash Operations: Perform tasks to settle the daily cash position, including transferring investments and redemptions, and handling unidentified receipts.



  • Bank Account Management: Open and close bank accounts, implement treasury products or services, and maintain banking information with regular updates. Ensure compliance with bank regulatory requirements such as AML/KYC, updated signatures, and proof of beneficial ownership.



  • Reconciliation and Reporting: Conduct reconciliations and run month-end and year-end close processes. Develop sophisticated financial reports and presentations using GTreasury, Tableau, and other data systems.



  • Support Requests: Monitor and assist with support requests related to system access, training updates, revenue and expense postings, and other cash management or merchant services issues.



  • Escheatment and Asset Recovery: Interact with departments to handle escheatment submissions and work with consultants to recover assets belonging to Stanford from the states.



  • Petty Cash and Audits: Coordinate the management of petty cash accounts, facilitate audits by providing vital documentation, and maintain the relationship with the document storage vendor.



  • Project Participation: Actively participate in project teams to support new initiatives, define requirements, develop and implement test cases, and analyze results.



  • Operational Improvement: Analyze existing systems and processes to find opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.



  • Documentation: Maintain desktop procedures and process documentation for the Office of the Treasurer's Cash Operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:





Education & Experience:


Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience preferred or combination of education and relevant experience.






Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Advanced proficiency in business applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.



  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems, the internet, and computer literacy.



  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) helpful



  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for and clearly and effectively communicate information to internal and external audiences and client groups.



  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to contribute to or lead part of a multi-functional team.








Certifications and Licenses:


Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) Preferred






PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:



  • Constantly sitting.



  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, use telephone, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork.



  • Occasionally stand/walk, lift/carry objects weighing 11-20 pounds.



  • Rarely reach/work above shoulder.
