The Director, Imaging Services plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments. Additionally, the Director, Imaging Services ensures efficient and effective departmental operations and plans and oversees cardiovascular clinical operations. An employee in this position supervises and coordinates administrative, technical, investigative, and clerical operations to assure maximum effectiveness and efficiency of departmental activities.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Participates in direct patient care, and data reporting and collecting, and develops automated storage for reporting cardiovascular information.
Directs clinical research through coordination of studies and performance of information retrieval and manuscript preparation.
Provides education and in-services to resident, medical students, fellows, and physicians.
Meets JCAHO standards by complying with corporate policy and procedures.
Promotes teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction and appropriate resource management.
Develops operating and capital budgets for the department and monitors established budgets.
Maintains and updates policy and procedure manuals for the department.
Maintains adequate supplies and evaluates equipment on a periodic basis to provide safe and efficient care and diagnosis for patients.
Makes recommendations regarding hire, discipline, and promotion of staff, authorizes leave and overtime, and evaluates employee performance.
Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Certification in relevant specialty or field
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Knowledge of business and management principles
Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
