Position Overview
Our client seeks a Business and Fund Development Director who will play a pivotal role in long-range planning and sustainable growth. This individual will work closely with our Executive Director to implement fundraising priorities, and to create and implement a strategic 5 year fund development plan that aligns with our vision and organizational goals, integrating a financial perspective into all aspects of our development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish a comprehensive long-range fund development strategy that supports mission and growth objectives.
• Conduct a thorough analysis of current funding sources and market opportunities to inform the development of a sustainable revenue mix.
• Design and implement an annual development plan that prioritizes diversified funding streams, including grants, corporate partnerships, and earned revenue.
• Develop a robust grants calendar, oversee grant writing, and ensure timely submission of proposals to maximize funding opportunities.
• Complete extensive independent writing of concept papers, grant reports, and briefs to support fundraising efforts.
• Support Executive Director's efforts to cultivate relationships with national funders and corporate partners to expand our revenue base and enhance organizational sustainability.
• Monitor and evaluate fundraising progress against strategic goals, making data-driven adjustments as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Foster member engagement and experiences that enhance support for the long-term vision and objectives.
Qualifications
• Proven success working in partnership with Executive Director or senior leaders to advance strategic fundraising partnerships
• Experience in long-range strategic planning and fund development, preferably within membership or professional associations, training programs, or related sectors.
• Strong project management skills with a successful track record in grant writing and fundraising initiatives.
• Ability to think critically and strategically about financial sustainability while adhering to organizational values and mission.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
