Description
This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining operational areas of the mill, upkeep of the grounds and landscaping around the mill, and loading ingredients as well as receiving when needed while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Task
The responsibilities for this role include sweeping and cleaning assigned areas of the mill, signing off on tasks upon completion, and assisting with ingredient unloading activities such as unloading railcars and trucks. The role also involves cleaning up feed spills, performing groundskeeping duties (including the use of landscaping equipment such as mowers and trimmers), and using air-driven equipment like blowguns and high-pressure water hoses for cleaning. You must be able to operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) to move pallets of ingredients and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including ear protection. The job requires working in various environments, such as hot, dry, dusty, wet, or cold conditions, with heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather. Flexibility to work on holidays, weekends, and during non-standard hours based on demand is essential. This position also requires working in elevated areas while adhering to all safety procedures. Compliance with the company's Biosecurity Guidelines, including an agreement to avoid contact with porcine species, is mandatory. Maintaining good housekeeping standards, including in service areas, and effectively communicating with all levels of operations, customers, and vendors-both orally and in writing-are integral parts of the role. Employees must follow Tyson Health and Safety protocols, lift up to 60 lbs unassisted or up to 100 lbs with assistance, and perform sustained physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders or stairs throughout the day. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as necessary. Must possess a valid driver's license as this position may require driving a company vehicle to retrieve parts when needed.
Requirements
Six months of consecutive work history in rolling 12 month period from date of application.
Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 90 days and are limited to 3 times of employment.
