Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems has internships available that are unparalleled in the knowledge of the movement of freight and people, and unmatched in technical and managerial services. We provide full-scale professional services to both public and private sector transportation clients.  Our Engineering Interns will work within our highway, structural, rail, and construction divisions.  Our interns assist the regional office with actively interacting with our teams as we work to develop plans, designs, and construction for our clients in various disciplines including states and municipalities, freight railroad, passenger rail and transit, airports and air carriers, and federal government projects. 


  • Assist Tampa Bridge Design Group with current projects

  • Assist with developing plans in CADD

  • Assist with developing analysis and design calculations

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering 

  • Candidate must be a senior when starting the Summer 2025 Semester if pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel

  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks as assigned

  • Must communicate well with others and have excellent phone etiquette

  • Must be able to work independently and manage time wisely

  • Be eager to learn; be a team player

  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
